No More Che Day 2010 (Observed)

October 08, 2010

Che LogoChe Guevara was an international terrorist and mass murderer. During his vicious campaigns to impose Communism on countries throughout Latin America, Che Guevara trained and motivated the Castro regime’s firing squads that executed thousands of men, women, and children.

For decades, the Left tried to glorify murderers and thugs like Lenin, Mao, and even Stalin. They are discredited today because people know about their evil deeds. Che is more obscure. He is one notorious figure who is idolized by the Left and hailed as a “hero,” yet most students never learn the truth about his cult of violence.

Use the anniversary of Che’s death on October 9 to educate the campus community about Che’s atrocities. As October 9 lands on a Saturday this year, distribute your materials on Friday, October 8.

Rolling the Conservative Movement: Seduction on the Right

By Jay Valentine

There are “movement conservatives,” and there are politicians who change their stripes for every occasion. Right now, the conservative movement is getting rolled by the latter.

Let us remember another day. Health care was all the rage (at least in the press), and leading “conservatives” were leading the third way. Newt Gingrich was working with Hillary Clinton on a more gradual route to universal health care, according to the New York Times and other sources.

“Conservative” Mitt Romney was building the Massachusetts universal health care along “business” principles fresh from saving the Olympics.

Now what? Well, Obama, the Tea Party, and Sarah Palin have lit a fire in the country, and every politician of every stripe has taken notice. And guess what: Newt Gingrich is all about repealing universal health care. Mitt Romney is all about anything other than what happened in Massachusetts.

Another example? Take Karl Rove. We now hear him every week on Fox News talking about the minutiae of how Obama has overreached. His book is titled Courage and Consequence. Again, let us hearken back a few years.

Karl Rove and George Bush gave us Obama and Democratic majorities in both houses. They rolled the conservatives by touting George Bush as a “compassionate conservative.” Has anyone forgotten the greatest spending spree until Obama? Has anyone forgotten the prescription drug benefit — pushed through Congress with muscle foretelling what was later to come from Rahm and Obama?

What courage? Just look at the consequences — and conservatives are buying that book?

Remember the “no new taxes” George Bush, sold as the “conservative” successor to President Reagan. One recalls “a kinder, gentler” conservative. Conservatives got rolled again.

Conservatives always get rolled with modifiers.

Well, here we are again.

We movement conservatives and the Tea Party are about to get rolled. We are going to get sucked in by candidates like Huckabee, who just realized the error of his ways in pardoning a criminal who murdered four Seattle police officers; Romney, who is a perfect reflection of whatever is going on in the body politic; and Gingrich, who uses every technical buzzword to convince people he is some kind of new idea machine.

Yet each, when the winds came in from the west, was quite different. Moderate, perhaps? Or nonpartisan? Or just a reflection of what they thought might get them elected.

Critical thinking demands that we remember these people in their milieu — what were they in different times? When times were liberal, they were, well, less conservative. When the press said people demanded less partisanship, Newt and Hillary traveled and spoke together, almost holding hands.

It is time we realize that there are “movement conservatives” and there are opportunistic conservatives. Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, Steve King, Jim Demint, and a host of emerging new candidates are movement conservatives.

What is different about them is they are conservative in their core, not in their clothing. When times get tough for conservatives, nothing changes. So when times get better, they aren’t likely to compromise.

People amazingly recall Reagan today as a “great president.” Not Bush, not Nixon, just Reagan. Well, let us recall why — he was the only movement conservative elected in the last fifty years. Reagan was great because he was a movement conservative; he never did anything just to get along or get elected.

The changes needed in America today are not a matter of degree; they are a matter of kind. The entire American mindset must fundamentally change away from democratic socialism and toward individual self-reliance.

That mindset is changing. The political class, however, is not, at least if at all – not enough.

The changes needed in America require saying “no” in a big way and being vilified in the press. Our leaders need to be able to stand up to massive left-wing media resistance and not compromise the core.

This can be done only by a movement conservative.

Repeal ObamaCare, not reduce it. Stop long-term welfare dependency, not alleviate it. Change the tax system so everyone participates, not just reduce top rates. Embrace free enterprise, not just regulate it less. End the dominance of the NEA. Vouchers everywhere, not just in Cleveland. Get rid of the Departments of Energy, Education, and Commerce, and then get started reducing government.

Gingrich, Romney, Rove, and Huckabee are trying to seduce the conservative movement into another dance with a newly found conservatism. If any of their ilk get elected, we will have “socialism, more slowly.”

We will lose the greatest opportunity in a political lifetime to change the direction of the country.

Palin, the Tea Party, Bachmann and others are the real deal.

We must always remember how we got here — looking at national bankruptcy. It was with “compassionate,” “kinder, gentler” modifier conservatives who found conservatism when the wind blew that way.

The Leftist ‘Purification’ Movement

(and why that ought to scare the hell out of you)

By Andrew Thomas

To the contemporary conservative, progressive ideology is often murky and incomprehensible. It is very difficult for some on the right to understand the apparently illogical and unrealistic machinations of the radical leftist mindset. Their political objectives, if achieved, inevitably lead to further demands for concessions toward an ever-greater ideological purity.
Something even darker and more malevolent is happening, however. The various radical leftist factions and special interest groups are rapidly coalescing into a global movement.

A comprehensive and enlightening treatise on this topic was recently published in Orbis, the Foreign Policy Research Institute’s journal of world affairs, written by University of Buffalo professor Ernest Sternberg. The article is titled, “Purifying the World: What the New Radical Ideology Stands For.” It will open your eyes and scare you to death.

In Steinberg’s analysis, from the historical ashes of failed fascist and communist regimes, a new totalitarian ideology is emerging.

Though a mouthful, world purificationism would do well in expressing what the movement wants. It wants to achieve a grand historical vision: the anticipated defeat of imperial capitalist power in favor of a global network of beneficent culture-communities, which will empower themselves through grassroots participatory democracy, and maintain consistency across movements through the rectifying power of NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations), thereby bringing into being a new era of global social justice and sustainable development, in which the diverse communities can harmoniously share an earth that has been saved from destruction and remade pristine.

The sworn enemy of the purifiers is simply referred to as “Empire” (preceding it with “the Evil” is not necessary, apparently). Empire’s evil manifestations are capitalism and Zionism. The geographical focus of purificationism’s hatred is the United States and Israel.

Steinberg compares the new movement to previous anti-capitalist and anti-Zionist movements:

Unmentionable for decades in progressive scholarly company, the similarity between totalitarianisms has once again received academic attention, in part because of interest in comparing Soviet, Maoist, Khmer, and Nazi genocides. The new work has renewed appreciation that fascism and communism did not just have similar regimes. They also shared parallel ideologies. [...]

Convinced that they have this unique mission, they must motivate hatred of opponents.  They carry out or at least legitimize ruthless violence. And they assert the privilege to shape life’s purpose and meaning for millions.

The purificationist dream is a world without borders, governed by a global network of NGOs. Almost all current activist organizations containing the words “green,” “justice,” “peace,” or “solidarity” would find a position in the ruling structure. These NGOs would gravitate toward forming a totalitarian regime since, as Steinberg points out, they are “unaccountable to an electorate and escape political checks and balances[.]“

Even more disturbing is the strengthening coalition between progressivism and radical Islam. Steinberg’s piece includes a quote from George Galloway, a progressive British parliamentarian, when asked if Muslims and progressives could unite in a common cause.

Not only do I think it’s possible but I think it is vitally necessary and I think it is happening already. It is possible because the progressive movement around the world and the Muslims have the same enemies… They have the same interest in opposing savage capitalist globalization which is intent upon homogenizing the entire world turning us basically into factory chickens which can be forced fed the American diet of everything from food to Coca-Cola to movies and TV culture… So on the very grave[,] big issues of the day — issues of war, occupation, justice, opposition to globalization — the Muslims and the progressives are on the same side.

To me, this sounds like a coalition between factory chickens and poultry butchers. But it exemplifies the unreality in the strategic thinking of progressives. They visualize a world of communities living in perfect harmony with nature and each other, with minimal industrial activity, no profit motive, and no greed. Everyone is tolerant of other’s beliefs (unless one is a capitalist or conservative). How they intend to deal with the violent intolerance of Islam toward other religions and cultures is not considered.

It is imperative to thoroughly understand this evolving ideological movement in order to effectively resist it. The socialist ideology is so pervasive that it will probably never be completely defeated.  Time after time, it has been seemingly destroyed and discredited, only to rise again in a new incarnation.  Its adherents play by no rules (other than Alinsky’s), and their ends justify any means required.

One issue that Steinberg does not address is the pervasive, unrelenting propaganda machine that constitutes the progressive mainstream media. As long as free-thinking individuals are misled and kept ignorant of the purificationist agenda, the infiltration of our institutions and the destruction of our freedoms and values will continue.

We who believe in capitalism, the U.S. Constitution, and individual liberty must do everything possible to educate others and disrupt this movement. Otherwise, the sweet dreams of the purifiers will inevitably result in an unending totalitarian nightmare of global proportions.

Manchurian President-Book exposes Robert Creamer, husband of Rep. Jan Schakowsky, D-Ill and more

 Was Obamacare designed for
‘distribution of wealth’?

Blueprint urged ‘creation’ of crisis to push radical plan

NEW YORK – A convicted felon and political consultant with close ties to the Obama administration helped provide a blueprint for the president’s health-care legislation, a recently released book exposes.

The book reveals Robert Creamer, husband of Rep. Jan Schakowsky, D-Ill., who was one of Capitol Hill’s most visible cheerleaders for Obama’s health-care bill, later wrote his health-care platform and declared strategies are not about “policies” – “they are about the distribution of wealth and power.”

Creamer also recommended the president “create” a national consensus that the country’s health-care system is in a state of crisis in order to push a radical new health-care plan.

The information was contained in the New York Times best-selling book “The Manchurian President: Barack Obama’s Ties to Communists, Socialists and Other Anti-American Extremists.”

The title, from WND senior reporter and WABC radio host Aaron Klein, purports to out extremists inside the Obama administration as well as expose a radical nexus outside the White House helping to craft key administration policies and legislation. Klein’s co-author is historian and researcher Brenda J. Elliott.

Creamer was sentenced to federal prison in 2006 after pleading guilty to bank fraud and withholding taxes while heading Citizen Action of Illinois.

While in prison, he wrote a book titled “How Progressives Can Win.”

Obama’s chief adviser, David Axelrod, touted Creamer’s book as providing “a blueprint for future victories,” including on health care.

His book was endorsed by other leading Democrats and by Andy Stern, a close ally of the president who as head of the Service Employees International Union had visited the White House more than any other individual.

“The Manchurian President” found that during Creamer’s trial, more than 200 people provided letters of support to the court on Creamer’s behalf, including Axelrod and Carol Browner, who is now Obama’s energy czar.

Creamer served as a political consultant to multiple Chicago politicians, including the city’s mayor, Richard Daley, and its fallen governor, Rod Blagojevich.

A section of Creamer’s book, titled “Progressive Agenda for Structural Change,” laid out the blueprint for a national health-care plan and recommended the president create a “national consensus that the health-care system is in crisis.”

Other Creamer recommendations include:

  • “We must create a national consensus that health care is a right, not a commodity; and that government must guarantee that right.”
  • “Our messaging program over the next two years should focus heavily on reducing the credibility of the health-insurance industry and focusing on the failure of private health insurance.”
  • We need not agree in advance on the components of a plan, but we must foster a process that can ultimately yield consensus.”
  • “We must focus especially on the mobilization of the labor movement and the faith community.”

Creamer’s plan, written in 2006, explicitly proposed that it be carried out in 2009, once a “progressive Democrat is elected President” and once Democrats could count on 60 votes in the Senate.

Creamer wrote: “If we succeed in winning health-insurance reform we will have breached the gates of the status quo. We will demonstrate that fundamental change is possible. Into that breach will flow a wave of progressive change.”

In a July 10, 2009, Huffington Post article Creamer wrote that “progressives” needed to remember seven things to succeed. Foremost among them, that “the critical battles being fought in 2009 are not about ‘policies’ – they are about the distribution of wealth and power.”

Creamer wrote that the money to pay for “exploding health-care costs for families” should come from the pockets of insurance and pharmaceutical companies and that they, the companies, will fight to maintain the status quo.

Obama called ‘Manchurian President’

Meanwhile, with nearly 900 citations, “The Manchurian President” bills itself as the most exhaustive investigation ever performed into Obama and his radical background and ties. Among the many finds of “The Manchurian President”:

  • A coalition of extremists, including a founder of William Ayers’ Weather Underground domestic-terrorist organization, helped craft Obama’s “stimulus” bill.
  • Obama’s health-care policy, masked by moderate populist rhetoric, was pushed along and partially crafted by extremists, some of whom reveal in their own words that their principal aim is to achieve corporate socialist goals and a vast increase in government powers.
  • Extremists are among Obama’s “czars” and other top advisers. New information links top advisers Axelrod and Valerie Jarrett to communist activists. The book uncovers correspondence in which a communist confesses to mentoring and educating Axelrod and helping the top Obama aide to secure his first job. Obama then later worked with the same communist, the book finds.
  • Evidence shows in 1995 Obama was a member of the socialist New Party, which sought to infiltrate the Democratic Party to ultimately mold it into a socialist-leaning organization. Perhaps more startlingly, the book reveals how New Party founders are currently helping to craft White House legislation.
  • The Manchurian PresidentCopious research reveals more about Obama’s deep ties to Ayers, uncovering for the first time where and how Obama first met Ayers – and it is much earlier than previously believed.
  • Important aspects of Obama’s carefully covered-up college years, with new details of his student career at Occidental College and later at Columbia University revealed.
  • Obama’s early years, including his previously overlooked early childhood ties to a radical, far-left church, are documented.
  • Obama’s associations with the Nation of Islam, Black Liberation Theology and black political extremists are also revealed, with extensive new information on the subjects.
  • Obama’s deep ties to ACORN, which are much more extensive than previously documented elsewhere, are covered. The book also crucially describes how a socialist-led, ACORN-affiliated union helped facilitate Obama’s political career and now exerts major influence in the White House.

Obama czar’s shocking communist connections

Edited publication whose founders allegedly fed secrets to Soviet Union

John Holdren, President Obama’s “science czar,” served on the board of editors of a magazine whose personnel were accused of providing vital nuclear information that helped the Soviet Union build an atom bomb.

The magazine, Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, has a long history of employing socialist and communist sympathizers, including during the time of Holdren’s employment in 1984, reports the New Zeal blog.

Holdren is assistant to the president for science and technology, director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and co-chairman of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.

The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists began publishing regularly in 1945, when it was founded by former physicists from the Manhattan Project, which developed the first atomic bomb.

Two of the magazine’s founding sponsors, Leo Szilard and Robert Oppenheimer, were accused of passing information from the Manhattan Project to the Soviets. Both were also key initiators of the Manhattan Project.

In 1994, Pavel Sudoplatov, a former major-general in Soviet intelligence, named Szilard and Oppenheimer as key sources of crucial atomic information to the Soviet Union.

“The most vital information for developing the first Soviet atomic bomb came from scientists engaged in the Manhattan Project to build the American atomic bomb – Robert Oppenheimer, Enrico Fermi and Leo Szilard,” wrote Sudoplatov.

Sudoplatov wrote the Soviet Union “received reports on the progress of the Manhattan Project from Oppenheimer and his friends in oral form, through comments and asides, and from documents transferred through clandestine methods with their full knowledge that the information they were sharing would be passed on.”

Here’s the full report on what’s happening in Washington and who actually is running the show, the Whistleblower issue on “Shadow Government: Inside the mad, mad, mad, mad world of Obama’s czars”

Indeed, Oppenheimer was accused in Senate hearings of bringing communists into the Manhattan Project. He brought his brother Frank and three former graduate students into the project, all of whom, according to Senate hearings, were well known to him to be “members of the Communist Party or closely associated with activities of the Communist Party.”

Oppenheimer admitted he knew by August 1943 that two of the scientists working under him were Communist Party members. Three of five scientists under Oppenheimer’s direct supervision were accused of leaking secret information about the atomic bomb to the Soviets.

On Oct. 25, 1945, Oppenheimer met with President Truman at the White House, urging him to surrender the U.S. nuclear monopoly to international control. Truman was outraged, reportedly telling Secretary of State Dean Acheson, “I don’t want to see that son-of-a-b*tch in this office ever again.”

Magazine used for ‘Soviet propaganda’

Oppenheimer and Szilard were stripped of their work in the Manhattan Project, but they continued to use the Bulletin to petition for the U.S. to surrender its nuclear arsenal to international control. According to Sudoplatov, this kind of work was for the benefit of the Soviets.

“[Soviet politician and security chief Lavrentiy] Beria said we should think how to use Oppenheimer, Szilard and others around them in the peace campaign against nuclear armament. Disarmament and the inability to impose nuclear blackmail would deprive the United States of its advantage,” wrote Sudoplatov.

Sudoplatov said his spymasters knew the lobby efforts of the Bulletin editors would be a “crucial factor in establishing the new world order after the war, and we took advantage of this.”

Another Bulletin founding sponsor, Edward U. Condon, was mentioned by FBI director J. Edgar Hoover in a May 1947 letter as having contact with an alleged spy who had passed information to the Soviets from 1941 to 1944.

Holdren worked alongside communist sympathizers

At the time Holdren worked on the Bulletin in 1984, communist and socialist sympathizers still occupied the magazine’s masthead.

The New Zeal blog notes the Bulletin’s board of directors in 1984 included:

  • Board chairman Aaron Adler, who also served on the board of the Chicago Center for U.S./USSR Relations and Exchanges, alongside Larry McGurty of the Communist Party USA.Adler was also a member of what New Zeal labels a Communist Party front, the Chicago Committee to Defend the Bill of Rights. He was also involved in a committee to celebrate the 100th birthday of Communist Party member Paul Robeson.
  • Bernard Weissbourd, a former Manhattan Project scientist who later served on the transition oversight committee for incoming Chicago Mayor Harold Washington, who was active in Communist Party fronts.Weissbourds’ son, Robert M. Weissbourd, later served as chairman of the Obama for America Campaign Urban and Metropolitan Policy Committee and on the Obama Transition Housing and Urban Development Agency Review Team in 2008.
  • Ruth Adams, Bulletin editor, who served in the 1960s on the Advisory Committee of the Hyde Park Community Peace Center. Other Center members included lifelong communist front activist Robert Havighurst, communist activist and radical Trotskyist Sydney Lens and Quentin Young, an avowed communist who has advised Obama on health care.

Surrender to planetary regime

Holdren, meanwhile, has been a longtime climate-change alarmist who has advocated ideas such as enforcing limits to world population growth.

Holdren’s name was in the e-mails hacked from the Climatic Research Unit at East Anglia University in the U.K., which show that some climate researchers declined to share their data with fellow scientists, conspired to rig data and sought to keep researchers with dissenting views from publishing in leading scientific journals.

FrontPageMag.com noted Holdren has endorsed “surrender of sovereignty” to “a comprehensive Planetary Regime” that would control all the world’s resources, direct global redistribution of wealth, oversee the “de-development” of the West, control a world army and taxation regime, and enforce world population limits.

Holdren collaborated with conspiracy theorist Paul Ehrlich, author of “The Population Bomb” in which it was proclaimed: “The battle to feed all of humanity is over. In the 1970s, the world will undergo famines – hundreds of millions of people are going to starve to death.”

WND previously reported Holdren also predicted 1 billion people will die in “carbon-dioxide-induced famines” in a coming new ice age by 2020.

Holdren based his prediction on a theory that human emissions of carbon dioxide would produce a climate catastrophe causing global cooling, with a consequent reduction in agricultural production resulting in widespread disaster.

But Holdren also argued “global warming” might cancel global cooling. In their 1970s textbook “Ecoscience: Population, Resources and Environment,” last revised in 1977, Holdren and co-authors Paul and Anne Ehrlich argued on page 687 that “a man-made warming trend might cancel out a natural cooling trend.”

Leftwingers Outraged by Being Associated with Leftwingers

February 3, 2010 Leave a comment

Friday, January 29, 2010

by Humberto Fontova

So they say; Nazis (and by implication all “right- wingers,” past and present) were inherently wicked.  Their agenda was evil from A to Z, their methods along with their goals.

Communists (and by implication left-wingers) at least mean well. Oh, they might get a tad overzealous at times (killing more people than the Nazis and the Bubonic Plague combined, as documented in the Black Book of Communism, for instance) but at least their hearts were in the right place.

In a one hour special titled “Revolutionary Holocaust; Live Free or Die” run on January 22nd Glenn Beck mounted a full-frontal attack against the above notion—and left it a smoking cinder.  First off, by sourcing Jonah Goldberg’s Liberal Fascism, Beck swept aside a premise that often handicaps conservatives from the get-go: the premise that Nazis belong on the right.  Bombarded by relentless documentation to the contrary, this liberal bromide quickly blew up, and the program proceeded to report on the notoriously under-reported Communist holocaust.

As a participant in the program, I’ll go on the record and report that the care given by the producers to proper documentation for all Communist crimes and Communist quotes amounted to a fetish. This care, of course, accounts for the program’s devastating effectiveness—and thus the anguished reaction by liberals.

“The Liberal cannot strike wholeheartedly at the communist for fear of wounding himself in the process,” wrote James Burnham in his classic Suicide of the West. This little gem did much to explain the theme in the opening lines of this article. But so vividly did Revolutionary Holocaust document  Communist  butcheries—from Stalin’s to Mao’s to Fidel Castro and Che Guevara’s–  that now some liberals are trying to weasel  away from  their years of alibis and rationalizations for the mass-murder.

The Glenn Beck special is now catching heat from “mainstream” liberal sources who claim no “mainstream” media or academic sources in fact herald the Communist icons as claimed on the special    To this end an article in Politico quotes Clemson professor and Harvard PHD, Steven Marks: “No one in their right mind is going to defend Stalin or Mao or Che Guevara,”

Oh?

Exhibit A:  Time Magazine honors Che Guevara among “The 100 Most Important People of the Century.” Not satisfied with such a paltry accolade they list him in theHeroes and Icons section, alongside Anne Frank, Andrei Sakharov, Rosa Parks and Mother Theresa. .

Exhibit B: “Innocent people were not executed in significant numbers, (by Che and Castro.)  Che presented a Christlike image, with his mortuary gaze it is as if Guevara looks upon his killers and forgives them.” (Jorge Castaneda. Global Distinguished Professor of Politics and Latin American Studies. Visiting professor at Princeton and Berkeley, columnist for The Los Angeles Times, and Newsweek.)

Exhibit C:  the cover of this very month’s GQ magazine (not exactly a “fringe” publication) features Che Guevara iconography on a smiling Johnny Depp.

Exhibit D:  During last year’s presidential campaign, Obama campaign offices prominently displayed Che Guevara posters

(Note: Che Guevara’s butcheries and Stalinist schemes were all orders from above, namely from his Stalinist boss, Fidel Castro, who appointed Guevara as his regime’s chief hangman.)

Exhibit E: “Fidel Castro is very shy and sensitive, a man I regard as a friend.”  Democratic Senator and Presidential Candidate, George Mc Govern:

 * “Viva Fidel! Viva Che!” bellowed while arm in arm with Fidel Castro himself. (Democratic Presidential candidate, Jesse Jackson.)

* “Fidel Castro first and foremost is and always has been a committed egalitarian. He wanted a system that provided the basic needs to all — enough to eat, health care, adequate housing and education. Cuba has superb systems of health care and universal education” (Democratic President James Earl Carter)

* “Fidel Castro is Cuba’s Elvis!” (former ABC anchorman Dan Rather)

* “Fidel Castro is an absolutely fascinating figure!” (NBC’s Andrea Mitchell)

* “Fidel Castro is one helluva guy!” (Ted Turner)

* “Fidel Castro has done good things for Cuba.” (Colin Powell)

Time and space restraints do not allow a listing of  accolades to Castro/Stalinism from Hollywood folks.

The Toast of Manhattan!” crowed Time magazine about Fidel Castro’s reception by Manhattan’s Beautiful People on his visit to address the U.N. General assembly in 1996, upon the U.N.’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

“The Hottest Ticket in Manhattan!” read a Newsweek story that week, referring to the social swirl that engulfed Castro. After Fidel’s whooping, hollering, foot-stomping ovation in the General Assembly, he was fêted by New York’s best and brightest, hobnobbing with dozens of Manhattan’s glitterati, pundits and power brokers.

First, there was dinner at the Council on Foreign Relations. After holding court there for a rapt David Rockefeller, along with Robert McNamara, Dwayne Andreas and Random House’s Harold Evans, Castro flashed over to Mort Zuckerman’s Fifth Avenue pad, where a throng of Beltway glitterati, including a breathless Mike Wallace, Peter Jennings, Tina Brown, Bernard Shaw and Barbara Walters, all jostled for a brief tryst, cooing and gurgling to Castro’s every comment.

All clamored for autographs and photo ops. Diane Sawyer was so overcome in the mass killer’s presence that she rushed up, broke into that toothy smile of hers, wrapped her arms around Castro and smooched him warmly on the cheek.

“You people are the cream of the crop!” beamed the mass-murdererr to the smiling throng that surrounded him.

“Hear, hear!” chirped the delighted guests while tinkling their wine glasses in appreciation and glee.

But the mass-murderer had barely scratched the surface of his fan club. According to the U.S. Cuba Trade and Economic Council, on that visit Castro received 250 dinner invitations from Manhattan celebrities and power brokers.
