Calling for the Impeachment of President Barack Obama

June 28, 2011

by William Gheen
President of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC
www.alipac.us

Today our national organization Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) has taken the difficult step of publicly calling on Congress to impeach or use any means at their disposal to stop President Obama and remove him from the Executive Branch of the US Government as soon as possible…

We are calling on Americans of every race, political party, and walk of life to unite behind this call for the impeachment of President Obama. All Americans who believe in the US Constitution, laws of Congress, and self-governance of Americans through elections should stand up against the recent authoritarian and unjust actions of President Obama.

Congressional investigations have revealed that the Executive Branch of our government has been arming the drug cartel groups that are bringing in most of the addictive drugs and illegal aliens into America. Via Obama’s Justice Department and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), thousands of assault rifles have been delivered to the smugglers, while Obama’s administration has claimed American gun rights should be abridged to stop American arms falling into the same hands to which the ATF helped deliver them!

This scandal is called Operation Gunrunner, Gun Walker, or Fast and Furious. ATF agents on the ground in Arizona were ordered by higher ups in the Obama administration to abandon surveillance of suspicious gun purchases for months, which allowed as many as 2,000 assault and Barrett .50 caliber rifles to go into the hands of the drug and illegal-alien-importing cartels that have killed millions of Americans with their addictive cargo. These cartels have used guns obtained under Operation Fast and Furious in their murders of tens of thousands of Mexican citizens.

Congressional hearings confirm that our American border patrol agents, police officers, and citizens now face assault rifles in the hands of murderous mobsters provided by the Obama administration.

Supposedly, the practice of letting assault rifles freely walk into Mexico ended when US Border Patrol agent Brian Terry was murdered with two of these guns, but how many thousands of Mexican and American citizens have also been killed with these guns provided to the smugglers by Obama’s regime? These guns keep showing up at murder scenes in Mexico.

ALIPAC has a complete collection of articles related to this scandal online for your review at…
http://www.alipac.us/ftopic-230424-days0-orderasc-0.html

And, as if Obama’s treason against the US Constitution, existing federal laws, Congress, and American public could not be clearer, Obama’s ICE Director John Morton issued a memo on June 17th to all ICE Field Office Directors, Special Agents-in-Charge, and all Chief Counsel, authorizing them to decline to remove illegal aliens who meet the qualifications for Amnesty under the DREAM Act Amnesty, which Congress has rejected many times.

While not as formal as an Executive Order, Obama has ordered Amnesty for illegal aliens which has not been ratified by Congress.

In fact, the American public and Congress have defeated both Comprehensive and Dream Act Amnesty eight times in the last six years!

Certified polls conducted by Rasmussen Reports and others show that American citizens reject these amnesties by a margin of at least two to one!

Even if you are of the minority opinion that illegal aliens should receive some form of Amnesty for their crimes against America, surely my fellow Americans would not support authoritarian decrees issued by a US President acting like a king.

It was wrong when Bush did it and it is wrong when Obama does it.

This is America. Our citizens are supposed to be in control of our nation. That is clearly not the case when the Executive Branch provides guns to invading armies of smugglers and decrees Amnesty for illegal aliens without congressional or public approval.

Congress must act, and act swiftly and decisively. Obama has proven that he is unfit to be the Commander-in-Chief of the United States. If Congress does not take action to stop these abuses of power, the invasion of America, and the murder of US Citizens with the help of our own President, then we must take to the streets to demand action.

For years we have been asking people to speak out, to vote, to call and write Congress, and to support candidates. Today we have learned that all of these civic actions are to no avail and that Americans are trapped in an authoritarian nation where elections, our Congress, the Constitution, and existing federal laws mean naught to presidents acting more as kings than executors of the laws of our citizens.

This is our nation, paid for with the lives, blood, sweat, and taxes of our forebears, and together we must unify behind the rules and principles that once made America the greatest nation on earth.

Our government must respond to American citizens on these demands or we must make plans to alter or abolish it and its despicable debts. Congress must impeach, charge, or use any means at its disposal to correct the wrongful actions of President Barack Obama.

ERIC HOLDER’S LONG EXPERIENCE WITH GUN RUNNERS
Holder defended Columbian gun running scam in 2007

The DOJ/ATF “Gun Walker” scandal isn’t the first time Eric Holder’s name has come up in association with gun runners and terrorist organizations.  Just a few years ago Holder acted as defense attorney for one of the largest gun running scandals in recent history.

TELL CONGRESS – ERIC HOLDER MUST GO!

In 2007, then private attorney Eric Holder defended the group that funneled $1.7 million into the Columbian group AUC (Autodefensas Unidas de Colombia) – a U.S. designated terrorist organization.  In addition to funding, Chiquita International Brands (CIB) helped the group illegally import over 3,000 AK-47s and 5 million rounds of ammunition into a country ripped apart by drug wars.  And Eric Holder not only defended CIB, he initially argued to the court that CIB had done nothing wrong.  When that did not work, he helped CIB negotiate a relatively small fine and eliminate legal penalties for the CIB employees who facilitated the illicit weapons transactions.

TELL CONGRESS – ERIC HOLDER MUST GO!

Now it comes to light that Eric Holder’s own U.S. Department of Justice, through its reporting agency the ATF, instituted a policy of assisting in the illegal export of guns to Mexican drug cartels.  ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms) agents reportedly not only turned a blind eye toward illegal gun sales, field agents were forced by superiors to actively facilitate the transfers.  And in at least one case, that of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, the cartels used those “gun walked” weapons to murder U.S. officers.

Given his previous work with gun runners, it is not far-fetched to imagine that Holder not only knew, but had a large hand in the program, however to the contrary he chooses to lie to our Congress.

TELL CONGRESS – ERIC HOLDER MUST GO!

Frankly, the ongoing DOJ/ATF “Gun Walker” scandal represents only the latest in a long line of disgraces associated with Attorney General Eric Holder, including numerous instances of his refusal to enforce or even abide by the law, such as the New Black Panthers voter intimidation case, the ACORN Voter corruption and funding scandals, federal court orders regarding “ObamaCare” and Congressional subpoenas, and his shocking dereliction of duty regarding the Defense of Marriage Act.   Rather than stand as the “top cop” and ultimate sentinel and protector of our nation’s rule of law, Holder seems to be far more interested in traducing the law to suit his own cronies, radical friends, colleagues, business associates — plus random “clients” and high bidders.  How much longer will we tolerate corruption and outright trampling of the Constitution from America’s highest law enforcement office?  Our current Attorney General is not fit to lead the Department of Justice.  ERIC HOLDER MUST GO!

Congressional hearings into the “Gun Walker” case are happening now, so we must act quickly to ensure the Department of Justice can be cleansed of the cancer destroying it from within.  Please fax Congress now!  And please consider making a donation to help Life & Liberty PAC continue our crucial whistleblowing operations.

TELL CONGRESS – ERIC HOLDER MUST GO!

Thank you. I know I can count on you to defend LIFE AND LIBERTY!
Sincerely,

Mary Lewis, Chair

Seventy-One Shots: The Death of Jose Guereña

by Bob Owens

Jose Guereña survived two tours in Iraq, but he couldn’t survive his own government.

Ted Nugent: Run, Rick Perry, run

Tough times call for tough Texas candidates

Good friend and Texas Gov. Rick Perryshould remember that now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country.

Now is that time, Rick. Run for president.

Indeed, the other GOP candidates are good men and women. Many thoughtful Americans have confidence that each of them would set a new, critically needed, much improved and responsible direction for America – the opposite of President Obama’s course.

Though it’s still very early in the campaign season, no one in the field of candidates is electrifying GOP voters. There is little buzz or excitement.

Candidate Perry would provide campaign electricity. In the words of the Gipper, it would be morning in America once again with Rick Perry running for president.

Rick is a true conservative, and a powerful and popular one. He has never lost an election and remains the only person to have won the Texas governorship three times in landslide elections.

He is appropriately critical of the federal government’s expanding control and reckless spending and thinks much of the power Washington politicians and power brokers wield should be returned to the states. Rick is a strong supporter of the 10th Amendment. Borrowing again from the Gipper, he inherently knows the federal government is not the solution to our problems; it is the problem.

With Rick at the helm, Texas is business-friendly, resulting in a booming economy compared with most other states. Texas has created more jobs over the past couple of years than any other state. If you want a job, come to Texas.

There would be stark differences between Rick and Mr. Obama.

Like other true conservatives, Rick does not support the economy-killing and energy-strangling “cap-and-trade” sham that Mr. Obama advocates. He thinks America should be energy-independent and that we have ample energy resources if we are allowed to mine them instead of restricting access to them.

He does not support Obamacare, knowing that more federal control over our health care will lead ultimately to higher deficits, fewer doctors and fewer options. Socialized medicine has failed around the world, and it will fail here, too.

Rick knows that we must get our financial house in order and that it is immoral to borrow and spend the tax dollars of Americans who have not yet been born. He knows that continuing down this kamikaze borrowing and spending path, along which both political parties have gleefully galloped, will destroy the nation.

America has reached a tipping point. We cannot continue to ignore deep, festering financial wounds incurred as a result of an addiction to federal spending. Too many Americans look to the federal government for answers to problems that the Washington bureaucracy has either created or exacerbated. Rick looks to the states, to local governments and to you to solve these problems. That is not hollow hope-and-change rhetoric but real power to the people.

Tough times call for tough people willing to make tough choices. That’s you, Rick.

Run for president, Rick. Now is your time to come to the aid of your country.

Obama’s Scandalous Secret Gun Control Agenda

Thousands of guns have been sold to Mexican drug cartels under orders from the Obama Justice Department. Now that Americans have been killed by the department’s failed operation, the White House is blaming law-abiding gun shops for its deadly scandal. But was that the administration’s plan all along?

—————–

President Obama is calling for “commonsense” gun reforms, but as a man with a long a history of acting to limit Second Amendment rights and advocating gun control who tapped an attorney general with the same ideology — and possibly the biggest gun trafficking scandal in U.S. history with his name written all over it — is the president really calling for reforms or more government control?

In the past, President Obama hasn’t been shy about expressing his views against the right to own a handgun and the right to carry concealed and his support for the reinstatement of the assault-weapons ban — more accurately understood as a ban on semiautomatic firearms. He believes the nation’s crime problems lie with gun ownership rather than criminals.

In fact, as an Illinois state senator, Obama endorsed and spoke in support of an outright ban on ownership of all handguns and favored the licensing and registering of gun owners. Before his run for public office in 1996, Obama filled out a questionnaire expressing his support for a ban on the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns.

Considering our uber-liberal president’s true beliefs on guns — and the anti-Second Amendment stance of the leftist base of his party — it shouldn’t surprise anyone to read about the most recent scandal we expose in the June issue of Townhall Magazine involving the Justice Department, guns, and law-abiding citizens.

In “Misfire,” Townhall News Editor Katie Pavlich gives an in-depth report on a little problem the administration doesn’t want to talk about: Operation Fast and Furious.

Because of this botched operation, thousands of guns have been put into the hands of Mexican drug cartels, Americans have been killed, and now legal gun-shop owners are in the White House’s crosshairs.

Here are a few excerpts from the powerful report:

The lethal project [Operation Fast and Furious] was conducted under the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), which is overseen by the Justice Department. Operation Fast and Furious is a product of the Obama administration and was conducted under a pilot program started by the Bush administration in 2005 called Project Gunrunner. Project Gunrunner allowed ATF agents to watch the purchase of weapons by “straw men” outside American gun shops, and purchasers were immediately apprehended before crossing back into Mexico. But starting early in 2009, ATF’s actions through Operation Fast and Furious had the opposite result: They actually allowed and encouraged the sale of weapons to known straw-man purchasers for the cartels and let the guns flow across the southern border into Mexico.

Reports have shown the ATF told gun shops to sell massive amounts of weapons to known drug cartel buyers, even after gun shop owners expressed discomfort in assisting the government in breaking federal law to arm known violent drug cartels. According to a CBS News report uncovering the scandal:

“In late 2009, ATF was alerted to suspicious buys at seven gun shops in the Phoenix area. Suspicious because the buyers paid cash, sometimes brought in paper bags. And they purchased classic ‘weapons of choice’ used by Mexican drug traffickers — semi-automatic versions of military-type rifles and pistols. …

“[S]everal gun shops wanted to stop the questionable sales, but ATF encouraged them to continue. …

“ATF managers allegedly made a controversial decision: allow most of the weapons on the streets.”

How many guns did the ATF ultimately let go? The same CBS News report revealed that the number is in the thousands: “On the phone, one [Operation Fast and Furious] source (who didn’t want to be identified) told us just how many guns flooded the black market under the ATF’s watchful eye. ‘The numbers are over 2,500 on that case by the way. That’s how many guns were sold — including some 50-calibers they let walk.’”

The project didn’t sit well with many ATF agents, either. CBS also reported, “One agent called the strategy ‘insane.’ Another said: ‘We were fully aware the guns would probably be moved across the border to drug cartels where they would be used to kill.’ For months, ATF agents followed 50-caliber Barrett rifles and other guns believed headed for the Mexican border but were ordered to let them go. One distraught agent was often overheard on ATF radios betting and pleading to be allowed to intercept transports. The answer: ‘Negative. Stand down.’”

The consequences of the operation have been deadly. …

This process, better known as “letting guns walk,” has left at least two U.S. federal agents dead — Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry and ICE Agent Jamie Zapata — and has contributed to the deaths of thousands of innocent Mexican citizens.

U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry,
killed with a gun put into the hands of
criminals under the direction of the ATF.

Though the ATF had hoped tracing the guns into Mexico would lead to the busts of cartel kingpins, the operation hasn’t lead to a single arrest of a cartel leader — or, for that matter, the actual tracing of the firearms. Instead, the guns have been lost in Mexico until they show up at crime scenes.

But was Fast and Furious really about tracing drug cartels? Or was it about “proving” false statistics liberal gun control advocates like Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and Eric Holder have been throwing out for years? If it was a legitimate operation, who did the U.S. government intend to prosecute after the guns crossed the border, considering officials in the United States don’t have jurisdiction in Mexico and the Mexican justice system is essentially nonexistent? It turns out law-abiding gun shop owners wound up in their crosshairs.

In early 2009, when the bulk of the operation got started, Clinton, Obama and Holder all stated that nearly 90 percent of guns in Mexico being used by cartels were coming from the United States. A WikiLeaks cable from the State Department recently showed that 90 percent of guns in Mexico actually come from Central America and others are bought in bulk from Russia and China. The 90 percent figure blaming U.S. gun shop owners has been discredited multiple times by the National Rifle Association, law enforcement officers at the federal, state and local levels and even by ATF officers. …

Before the public, the media and even the Mexican government knew about what the ATF was doing, President Obama met publicly with Mexican President Felipe Calderon and blamed violence in Mexico on gun shop owners in America, saying the U.S. government needed to do a better job of tracing guns into Mexico. …

“What we’ve focused on is how we can improve our enforcement of existing laws, because even under current law, trafficking illegal firearms, sending them across the border, is illegal,” he continued, “and that is something we can stop.”

But the ATF did it anyway. At the same time President Obama was saying the U.S. government can stop the trafficking of guns into Mexico, that same government’s ATF was ordering gun shop owners to sell weapons to cartels.

Holder denies having known anything about the operation, although he is responsible for the oversight of the ATF as the head of the Justice Department, but he did say in a press conference that he believes ATF agents do a good job at stopping the flow of illegal guns across the border. …

Of course, much of the liberal media have been happy to do the White House’s bidding and blame law-abiding gun shop owners, making them scapegoats for violent crimes happening in Mexico and the United States.

Barack Obama Turns to Deep-Pocketed Donors to Help Win the Future

By Michael Beckel on March 3, 2011

In late February, President Barack Obama announced 22 new members for his council on jobs and competitiveness, a group he established in January. The new appointees are also linked by a shared experience: donating to Democrats.

Nineteen of these 22 appointees have given a combined $4.2 million to Democratic groups and candidates since 1989, according to research by the Center for Responsive Politics.

Obama himself has received a combined $79,050 over the years from half of these appointees. Additionally, one of these council members and the wife of another donated $50,000 a piece to Obama’s 2009 presidential inaugural committee.

Among them? Penny Pritzker, the Obama presidential campaign’s national finance chairwoman, who also served as co-chair of the Obama’s inaugural committee, to which she also personally donated. via Barack Obama Turns to Deep-Pocketed Donors to Help Win the Future – OpenSecrets Blog | OpenSecrets.

The only thing wrong with capitalism is crony capitalism, and here’s an example of it as it runs rampant through the Obama administration:

The last time the US ran such a loose monetary policy in combination with high unemployment was in the 1970′s, and the result was global and US “stagflation” with high unemployment and runaway inflation, it took three very difficult years and a Ronald Reagan in office to overcome the devastation of that period, by turning away from Carter (Obama like) policies.

Three weeks ago, President Obama spoke to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, during which we made five specific comments that once again clearly underscore his lack of even the most basic understanding of economics and private sector business.  It remains troublesome that the president would make any one of these statements individually.  But taken in their entirety, they reveal a cumulative commentary about his views of American enterprise and its relationship to the federal government; in his own words, it’s a “game”. A “GAME”!…

House Republicans need to put another item on their to-do list: ask Attorney General Eric Holder for his resignation ASAP.Two years ago he insulted every American when he called us “a nation of cowards.” Yesterday in front of a House Appropriations Committee Hearing he all but admitted he’s not about to honor the Pledge of Allegiance’s promise of “justice for all.” Why? Because of his reverse racism in (mis)handling the black panther voter intimidation case.

The noticeable lack of leadership by the president is obvious to all. Even WaPo’s Ruth Marcus, a staunch liberal columnist, asks “Where’s Waldo?” about the Obama White House. The American presidency has been allowed to drift into the background on both domestic and foreign policy matters, as decisive leadership in crisis after crisis fails to materialize.

Evidence suggests that Islamic aggression toward America has actually risen under Obama’s watch.  For example, Time — no conservative or right-wing publication — has reported that over one-third of the 32 terrorist-related events that America has endured since 9/11 occurred during just the first year of Obama’s presidency.  And lest we forget the true nature of the Fort Hood massacre shooting of 2009, Obama also has the distinction of having presided over the first terrorist attack on American soil since that day of infamy almost a decade ago. That the Islamic terrorist has become significantly more emboldened during President Obama’s watch is indeed a phenomenon provoking no inconsiderable measure of curiosity.

So what exactly happened to the “new tone” of civility declared by President Obama and the Democrats after the Arizona shooting?

Well in Wisconsin, Unions traded in their “new tone” of civility for picket signs with gun targets and pictures of Hitler, accompanied by vitriolic threats, lot’s of vulgarity and hate filled speech directed at Governor Scott Walker and the Republican Party. And based on President Obama’s non-condemnation of Union actions and behavior in Wisconsin, he has obviously granted Unions an exemption from his “new tone” mandate.

Obamacare, budget cuts, public employees: There are three basic components involved in any magic trick: an assurance of truth, misdirection, and the deception.

Republican governors and members of Congress vowed Tuesday to fight an ongoing Obama administration plan to make millions of acres of undeveloped land in the West eligible for federal wilderness protection. The GOP officials said the plan would circumvent Congress’s authority and could be used to declare a vast swath of public land off-limits to oil-and-gas drilling.

Rep. Denny Rehberg, R-Mont., said the policy threatens the economy in rural Western states and accused the Obama administration of waging a “war on the West.” Idaho Gov. Butch Otter called the plan “a drastic change in public policy for public lands that was done without public input.” He called on Congress to “take back its authority” and block the new policy. Utah Gov. Gary Herbert, appearing with Otter at a hearing before the House Natural Resources Committee, called on the GOP-led panel to “help us right a very real and very damaging wrong.”

Young Communists Launch National ‘Red School-Bus Tour’ US

YCL bus tour

It‘s communism that’s about 40 feet long and rolls along on four wheels. And it could be coming to a town near you.

The Southern California Young Communist League (YCL), a branch of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA), announced on its website that it’s launching a “National Red School-Bus Tour.” The YCL calls each stop on the tour “weekend long schools” for “young activists.” So what exactly is this tour all about?

The blog P/Oed Patriot broke the story after it went digging. Here’s what it found:

According to the SoCal YCL’s website the “Schools” will include:

“lively classes and discussions: Marxism and the Political Moment: Building the movement for change; The Crisis of Capitalism Today: Causes of Crisis and the Class Struggle; Working Class and the Labor Movement; Racism, Immigrant Rights, women’s rights, LGTB rights and the struggle for equality; The CPUSA and YCL, envisioning Bill of Rights Socialism and how to get there. Also plenty of cultural, social and recreational activities.”

The YCL doesn’t say exactly what the above-mentioned classes will include. But P/Oed Patriot, who notes that the Southern California YCL has a motto of “youth unite and fight,” wonders if the group’s mission statement could offer a glimpse. According to that statement, violent revolution is sometimes a necessary part of the “struggle”:

Good news (NOT): New Cloward-Piven strategy being launched

What she is calling for is nothing less than the chaos and violence engulfing Europe. Disgruntled leftist unionists, students who expect an education without cost, and citizens of social-democratic states cannot accept that the old terms of the social contract they thought would last forever have worn out their welcome. The European welfare-state governments can no longer function with the kind of social programs that now far exceed their nation’s budgets and hence are moving their countries to the precipice of total collapse.

So Piven hopes that in our own country, “a loose and spontaneous movement of this sort could emerge,” spurred on, no doubt, by ideologues like Piven and the encouragement of the New York City leftists who run The Nation magazine. Perhaps on their next Carribbean cruise they can talk about it some more. Hence Piven hopes that young workers and students, “who face a future of joblessness, just might become large enough and disruptive enough to have an impact in Washington.”

Will it happen here? There is no exact science of protest movements, she notes. But who, she asks, “expected the angry street mobs in Athens or the protests by British students?” Living in the past, she looks hopefully at the strikes in 1934, and the civil rights movement of the1960s. Clearly no student of history, Piven fails to comprehend the very different circumstances that made these social movements have legs. All she can do is issue her hope that another “American social movement from the bottom” will emerge, and then the organized Nation left can “join it.”

Barack Obama is the nation’s first-ever Affirmative Action President.  It should come as no surprise that President Obama’s pick for Attorney General, Eric Holder,  would dispense Affirmative Justice. Affirmative Action, simply put, seeks to correct past negative discrimination with positive discrimination.  Call it “racial preference,”  “employment equity,”  “smiley-face discrimination,” or whatever, but Affirmative Action is basically a …

And to make matters worse on this next one, Obama is said to be considering selling a major portion of GM to china. Yeah, from government motors to communist motors, unbelievable!

Examiner Editorial: Get Government Motors out of politics

General Motors’ political action committee has resumed giving money to politicians, and it does so under a huge cloud. Our government owns 61 percent of GM. An additional 12 percent is owned by the governments of Canada and the province of Ontario. This “Government Motors” arrangement is unlikely to change soon. Even as the post-bankruptcy GM strives to make an initial public offering of its stock, the U.S. government reportedly plans to sell off no more than 20 percent of its shares.

Federal Workers Don’t Share Recession Pain

    by Newsmax

While many workers in the private sector have been suffering the effects of the recession, federal employees have been enjoying a boom in employment and compensation — at taxpayers’ expense.

“For nearly two years, millions of private-sector workers have made often painful sacrifices because of failed federal economic policies and skyrocketing federal spending and debt. But the opposite has been true for federal workers,” the Washington Examiner states in an editorial.

    According to the Examiner:

    • Beginning in 2008, federal employees earning $100,000 or more a year rose from 14 percent to 19 percent of the civil service workforce of 2 million.
    • During that period, Washington added around 100,000 new jobs, while more than 7 million private-sector jobs were lost.
    • The average compensation for a federal worker now stands at $123,049, more than double the private-sector average.
    • Of the 10 counties with the highest per capita income, six are in the Washington, D.C., area.

The Heritage Foundation reported that four out of the five jobs President Obama claimed were “created or saved” by the stimulus bill were in government.

Now Rep. Mike Coffman, a Colorado Republican, wants bureaucrats and politicians to share the pain. He has a proposal to furlough all nonessential federal workers for two weeks next year, and to cut the salaries of senators and representatives by 10 percent.

But the House Democratic leadership recently refused to schedule a vote on a bill introduced by Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz., to cut congressional pay by 5 percent. Coffman’s proposal is not likely to fare much better — it’s been 77 years since Congress voluntarily took a pay cut.

But the Examiner warns: “In the year of the Tea Party, if the rest of Congress doesn’t take the Coffman and Kirkpatrick bills seriously, voters will have the opportunity in November to remind them what it’s like to be unemployed.”

    Unity in a Disunified Country
We have a President of the United States who may not be eligible for the job but refuses to provide the simple records that would prove it, one way or the other. He bows to world leaders, trying to pacify foreigners with apologies for America’s greatness. Refusing to verbally support America’s greatness abroad is strange presidential behavior. We have a United States Attorney General who thinks it is okay to……

Obama’s Wonderland Is No Fairy Tale

    By Eileen F. Toplansky

As we continue to tumble down the road to economic ruin, security vulnerability, and reduced health care benefits, things become “curiouser and curiouser.” While President Obama speedily demands that General McChrystal zoom home to be dismissed from his post, the frustrated Gulf residents still cannot get all the equipment and assistance that they need to hold back the oil that is wrecking their homes and their livelihoods. Thus, one wonders as Alice in Wonderland did, “Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?”

“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cat. And herein is the American people’s conundrum. Where do we want to go as this president continues to severely damage our country and her interests?

Even Europe understands the economic catastrophe that is upon us and wonders if “we’re all mad here” as Obama and team continue to obfuscate the truth. Actor Jon Voight has publicly stated that Obama is lying to the American people. But of course, when Obama speaks, “it means just what [he] chooses it to mean — neither more nor less.”

“The question is,” said Alice, “whether you can make words mean so many different things.”

“The question is,” said Humpty Dumpty, “which is to be master — that’s all.”

And so, in the new Patients’ Bill of Rights, Obama, “speaking ominously,” has warned the health care insurance providers that the government will “be watching [them] closely.”  Ultimately, our soft tyrannical government will be the sole arbiter of our health needs and costs. Though Obama promised otherwise, it is becoming patently obvious that eventually Americans won’t be able to keep their own insurance, since Obama has created a no-win situation for the private health insurance sector, which cannot remain financially solvent. Queues and denial of health care benefits are around the corner. Furthermore, the latest massive bill about financial reform is being pushed through Congress; Senator Dodd has said that it “is about as important as it gets, because it deals with every single aspect of our lives.” Uh-oh!

Furthermore, infatuated with himself, Obama, believed by many to be the messiah, has hurt the very people who pinned such high hopes on him. Already, accounts reveal that minorities and women — those very groups who were part of the affirmative action programs imposed by the federal government — are being adversely affected. Obama promised them pie in the sky but neglected to tell them that a house built upon financially shaky foundations will eventually fold. Moreover, Barney Frank blocks Republicans from offering amendments to reform Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac — the source of so much of the current economic downfall — and so the charade continues, with American taxpayers propping up a defunct system. Obama pointedly dislikes the exceptional nature of America and seeks to destroy it, but are all the congressional Democrats so hateful of the country they swore to serve?

People are slowly allowing themselves to be psychologically enslaved as one group is pitted against the other. When questioned by senators about the massive expansion in hate crimes enforcement, Attorney General Holder responded that hate crimes legislation “would not necessarily cover” instances where whites, Christians, or military members were assaulted. Preferential treatment for blacks at the expense of whites and Asians was part of Obama’s tenure during his time as senator. Double standards and obvious favoritism now reign supreme. Most egregious is Holder’s dismissal of the case where New Black Panther Party members intimidated white voters. Does this portend things to come in November?

How else could Arizona now be a pariah in the Obama administration? Hypocritically, he thinks he will obtain the Hispanic vote while he undermines the rule of law. If I were of Hispanic heritage, I would be incensed at the covert discrimination this represents. It implies that Hispanic people are unlawful and irresponsible! How could other states arrogantly dismiss the genuine legal concerns of Arizonans and start boycotting this besieged state? Government does not want to actually repair the holes in our immigration program. Furthermore, Obama offends those immigrants who have obeyed the law and are adding their talents to the American tapestry. Quite unbelievably, because Obama and Holder will file lawsuits against Arizona, our Mexican neighbors are coming on board and have formally joined a lawsuit challenging Arizona’s new immigration law!

The Mexican government is merely taking its cue from the deliberate “reeling and writhing, of course, to begin with, and then the different branches of arithmetic — ambition, distraction, uglification, and derision” that Obama employs so well. First, there is his overweening ambition with no true leadership experience; then our 44th president constantly distracts with his pseudo-anger and coarse words. When that trick loses its appeal, he derides and humiliates the banks, the car companies, the BP executives, the people of Arizona, the country, the value system of America, and our allies. This is an autocrat who clearly echoes the Queen when she said, “Now I must give you fair warning: ‘either you or your head.’” There is a genuine fear in this country as people understand that to disagree with Obama and company is to invite “the boot” on their necks, so reminiscent of dictatorial governments as Obama and cronies doth “sentence first — verdict afterwards.”

Surely, “it would be so nice if something made sense for a change,” said Alice, but in Obamaworld, if one wants to deliberately undermine this country, everything he does leans in that direction. As the Duchess exclaimed, “the moral of that is — the more there is of mine, the less there is of yours.” The next generation of Americans is already burdened with the financial debacle of a $15-trillion debt with no end in sight as the federal government becomes as bloated as Tweedledee and Tweedledum. Obama’s economic plan has not improved the country, but when “four times five is twelve, and four times six is thirteen,” math takes on a wholly new and original meaning as this president confiscates money without “due process of law.”

Knowing full well that his programs could do nothing but fail because they are not sustainable, Obama sets the stage for frustration and anger. He pits groups against each other rather than open up a truly free-market economy where people would have a chance to succeed. Rile up the crowd — distract them from the issues and engage in constant polemic. Sales on new homes in May plunged 33%, but all is well in Obama Wonderland!

Indeed, after forty years of federal entitlement, there are too many Americans who may have vaguely remembered ideals like responsibility and individual initiative, who used to “know who [they were] when [they] got up this morning, but … must have been changed several times since then.” Segments of Americans have lost their fundamental moorings or were never taught about the greatness of America and are now mesmerized by the empty slogans and the articulate nonsense of this president and the congress.

Jean-Francois Revel in his book How Democracies Perish wonders how “the citizens of democratic societies [will] find reasons to resist the enemy outside if they are persuaded from childhood that their civilization is merely an accumulation of failures and a monstrous imposture. … And that attack, which is being waged with unexampled vigor [and] scope … is catching the democracies in a state of intellectual impotence and political indolence” (10).

Our history books censure the dangers of totalitarianism and falsify and embellish history, and there is no reprobation. Obama stands by as America is demeaned, and all the while the adoring crowds still believe the emperor is wearing clothes. Their gullibility or lack of facts is mind-boggling. Thus, Obama has learned well the advice of the Queen: “Be what you would seem to be — [or] if you’d like it put more simply –’Never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise.’”

Will democracy “turn out to be have been a historical accident,” as Jean Francois Revel wrote?

”Oh my ears and whiskers, how late it’s getting,” said Rabbit!

Is U.S. Now On Slippery Slope To Tyranny?

By THOMAS SOWELL Posted June 21, 2010 06:13 PM ET

When Adolf Hitler was building up the Nazi movement in the 1920s, leading up to his taking power in the 1930s, he deliberately sought to activate people who did not normally pay much attention to politics.

Such people were a valuable addition to his political base, since they were particularly susceptible to Hitler’s rhetoric and had far less basis for questioning his assumptions or his conclusions.

“Useful idiots” was the term supposedly coined by V.I. Lenin to describe similarly unthinking supporters of his dictatorship in the Soviet Union.

Put differently, a democracy needs informed citizens if it is to thrive, or ultimately even survive.

In our times, American democracy is being dismantled, piece by piece, before our very eyes by the current administration in Washington, and few people seem to be concerned about it.

The president’s poll numbers are going down because increasing numbers of people disagree with particular policies of his, but the damage being done to the fundamental structure of this nation goes far beyond particular counterproductive policies.

Just where in the Constitution of the United States does it say that a president has the authority to extract vast sums of money from a private enterprise and distribute it as he sees fit to whomever he deems worthy of compensation? Nowhere.

And yet that is precisely what is happening with a $20 billion fund to be provided by BP to compensate people harmed by their oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Many among the public and in the media may think that the issue is simply whether BP’s oil spill has damaged many people, who ought to be compensated.

But our government is supposed to be “a government of laws and not of men.”

If our laws and our institutions determine that BP ought to pay $20 billion — or $50 billion or $100 billion — then so be it.

But the Constitution says that private property is not to be confiscated by the government without “due process of law.”

Technically, it has not been confiscated by Barack Obama, but that is a distinction without a difference.

With vastly expanded powers of government available at the discretion of politicians and bureaucrats, private individuals and organizations can be forced into accepting the imposition of powers that were never granted to the government by the Constitution.

If you believe that the end justifies the means, then you don’t believe in constitutional government.

And, without constitutional government, freedom cannot endure. There will always be a “crisis” — which, as the president’s chief of staff has said, cannot be allowed to “go to waste” as an opportunity to expand the government’s power.

That power will of course not be confined to BP or to the particular period of crisis that gave rise to the use of that power, much less to the particular issues.

When Franklin D. Roosevelt arbitrarily took the United States off the gold standard, he cited a law passed during the First World War to prevent trading with the country’s wartime enemies. But there was no war when FDR ended the gold standard’s restrictions on the printing of money.

At about the same time, during the worldwide Great Depression, the German Reichstag passed a law “for the relief of the German people.”

That law gave Hitler dictatorial powers that were used for things going far beyond the relief of the German people — indeed, powers that ultimately brought a rain of destruction down on the German people and on others.

If the agreement with BP was an isolated event, perhaps we might hope that it would not be a precedent. But there is nothing isolated about it.

The man appointed by President Obama to dispense BP’s money as the administration sees fit, to whomever it sees fit, is only the latest in a long line of presidentially appointed “czars” controlling different parts of the economy, without even having to be confirmed by the Senate, as Cabinet members are.

Those who cannot see beyond the immediate events to the issues of arbitrary power — vs. the rule of law and the preservation of freedom — are the “useful idiots” of our time. But useful to whom?

The Democrats’ are terminally ill. It’s Five Stages

    By Alex Stevenson

Elisabeth Kubler-Ross published a groundbreaking analysis of the changes that happen to people upon been informed of a terminal illness. In her 1969 book, On Death and Dying, Kubler-Ross describes five stages of grief, a process by which people deal with tragedy, especially when diagnosed with a terminal illness. Her work created awareness to the sensitivity required for better treatment of individuals who are dealing with a fatal disease.  The five stages are:

Denial is a temporary defense for the individual.

Anger — when denial fails, resistance and rage against the truth replace it.

Bargaining involves the hope that the inevitable can be delayed.

Depression is the beginning of understanding the inevitable.

Acceptance is honestly dealing with the reality of the situation.

The Democrats are going through this process.

Consider the Democrats’ response to the Tea Party Movement in terms of this analysis. The Democrats and media offer a classic instance of Denial. The unified response by the party and the media was to characterize the movement as “Astroturf.” MSM reports on the Tea Party demonstration in Washington minimized the large number of participants and labeled them as poorly organized and unlikely to have any influence on the debate of the role of the federal government in our current crisis.

The second stage, Anger, is well underway and may have peaked. The House Democrats called the Tea Party “racist,” claiming imaginary swastikas at rallies, and marched to the Capitol in force, bearing the Imperial Gavel in order to provoke an incident. The only incident was a phony spitting accusation and a nonexistent racial epithet by an entrenched incumbent race-baiter.

Looking forward in the political process, Americans should anticipate the third stage, Bargaining. The Democrats will offer up candidates under the false-flag, third-party “Tea Party.” In Florida, Democrat Congressman Alan Grayson has conspired with corrupt local operatives to register the Tea Party as a political party. The intention is to put candidates on the ballot in November in order to confuse the electorate and draw votes away from the newly invigorated Republicans. We can anticipate more of this nationally, depending on its success in Florida and Nevada.

Depression will be the overwhelming emotion in the Democrat leadership after the elections in November. They will be inconsolable and difficult to deal with in the depths of their despair, and not just a little dangerous. The few months between the November election and new members taking their seats in House and Senate will be a lame duck session we all should fear.

The final stage is Acceptance. Will the Democrats ever abandon the tactics that delegitimize a Republican majority? Accusations of election fraud and lawsuits will be in the news in the period following any significant Democrat loss. It is doubtful that the Democrats will ever accept the new situation and start the cycle of grief over from the first stage, denial. The rage will be renewed through the rent-a-mob, and bargaining will begin anew as committee seats are renegotiated.

Depression will bring the retirement of the previous powerful committee chairmen and other figures unable to deal with their loss, thus setting the stage for a new generation of Democrats, who will adjust to the new power structure. Acceptance will be required to advance any legislation favored by the Democrats, so in the long run, the new generation will come to terms.

Ex-DOJ Attorney: New Black Panther Cover-up

    Sunday, 27 Jun 2010 09:45 PM

    By: J. Christian Adams

On the day President Obama was elected, armed men wearing the black berets and jackboots of the New Black Panther Party were stationed at the entrance to a polling place in Philadelphia. They brandished a weapon and intimidated voters and poll watchers. After the election, the Justice Department brought a voter-intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party and those armed thugs. I and other Justice attorneys diligently pursued the case and obtained an entry of default after the defendants ignored the charges. Before a final judgment could be entered in May 2009, our superiors ordered us to dismiss the case.

The New Black Panther case was the simplest and most obvious violation of federal law I saw in my Justice Department career. Because of the corrupt nature of the dismissal, statements falsely characterizing the case and, most of all, indefensible orders for the career attorneys not to comply with lawful subpoenas investigating the dismissal, this month I resigned my position as a Department of Justice (DOJ) attorney.

The federal voter-intimidation statutes we used against the New Black Panthers were enacted because America never realized genuine racial equality in elections. Threats of violence characterized elections from the end of the Civil War until the passage of the Voting Rights Act in 1965. Before the Voting Rights Act, blacks seeking the right to vote, and those aiding them, were victims of violence and intimidation. But unlike the Southern legal system, Southern violence did not discriminate. Black voters were slain, as were the white champions of their cause. Some of the bodies were tossed into bogs and in one case in Philadelphia, Miss., they were buried together in an earthen dam.

Based on my firsthand experiences, I believe the dismissal of the Black Panther case was motivated by a lawless hostility toward equal enforcement of the law. Others still within the department share my assessment. The department abetted wrongdoers and abandoned law-abiding citizens victimized by the New Black Panthers. The dismissal raises serious questions about the department’s enforcement neutrality in upcoming midterm elections and the subsequent 2012 presidential election.

The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights has opened an investigation into the dismissal and the DOJ’s skewed enforcement priorities. Attorneys who brought the case are under subpoena to testify, but the department ordered us to ignore the subpoena, lawlessly placing us in an unacceptable legal limbo.

The assistant attorney general for civil rights, Tom Perez, has testified repeatedly that the “facts and law” did not support this case. That claim is false. If the actions in Philadelphia do not constitute voter intimidation, it is hard to imagine what would, short of an actual outbreak of violence at the polls. Let’s all hope this administration has not invited that outcome through the corrupt dismissal.

Most corrupt of all, the lawyers who ordered the dismissal – Loretta King, the Obama-appointed acting head of the Civil Rights Division, and Steve Rosenbaum – did not even read the internal Justice Department memorandums supporting the case and investigation. Just as Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. admitted that he did not read the Arizona immigration law before he condemned it, Mr. Rosenbaum admitted that he had not bothered to read the most important department documents detailing the investigative facts and applicable law in the New Black Panther case. Christopher Coates, the former Voting Section chief, was so outraged at this dereliction of responsibility that he actually threw the memos at Mr. Rosenbaum in the meeting where they were discussing the dismissal of the case. The department subsequently removed all of Mr. Coates’ responsibilities and sent him to South Carolina.

Mr. Perez also inaccurately testified to the House Judiciary Committee that federal “Rule 11″ required the dismissal of the lawsuit. Lawyers know that Rule 11 is an ethical obligation to bring only meritorious claims, and such a charge by Mr. Perez effectively challenges the ethics and professionalism of the five attorneys who commenced the case. Yet the attorneys who brought the case were voting rights experts and would never pursue a frivolous matter. Their experience in election law far surpassed the experience of the officials who ordered the dismissal.

Some have called the actions in Philadelphia an isolated incident, not worthy of federal attention. To the contrary, the Black Panthers in October 2008 announced a nationwide deployment for the election. We had indications that polling-place thugs were deployed elsewhere, not only in November 2008, but also during the Democratic primaries, where they targeted white Hillary Rodham Clinton supporters. In any event, the law clearly prohibits even isolated incidents of voter intimidation.

Others have falsely claimed that no voters were affected. Not only did the evidence rebut this claim, but the law does not require a successful effort to intimidate; it punishes even the attempt.

Most disturbing, the dismissal is part of a creeping lawlessness infusing our government institutions. Citizens would be shocked to learn about the open and pervasive hostility within the Justice Department to bringing civil rights cases against nonwhite defendants on behalf of white victims. Equal enforcement of justice is not a priority of this administration. Open contempt is voiced for these types of cases.

Some of my co-workers argued that the law should not be used against black wrongdoers because of the long history of slavery and segregation. Less charitable individuals called it “payback time.” Incredibly, after the case was dismissed, instructions were given that no more cases against racial minorities like the Black Panther case would be brought by the Voting Section.

Refusing to enforce the law equally means some citizens are protected by the law while others are left to be victimized, depending on their race. Core American principles of equality before the law and freedom from racial discrimination are at risk. Hopefully, equal enforcement of the law is still a point of bipartisan, if not universal, agreement. However, after my experience with the New Black Panther dismissal and the attitudes held by officials in the Civil Rights Division, I am beginning to fear the era of agreement over these core American principles has passed.

The Obama administration is working to balance its support of United Nations Security Council sanctions against Iran by opposing similar sanctions in the process of being formulated by the U.S. Congress.

The American version of such sanctions would punish firms that sell refined petroleum products to the Islamic Republic or help the country’s oil industry in other ways. The sanctions would apply only to U.S. agencies and companies and would not be binding on other countries.

Other nations are also considering similar measures, now that the U.N. sanctions have been approved.

The White House is concerned that the Congress may go too far in imposing sanctions on those that work with firms based in countries that have cooperated with Iran, such as China, Russia and several European nations, according to the Los Angeles Times. Such a move could damage America’s relationship with those countries, all of whom cooperated with the United States when it came time to vote on the United Nations sanctions against Iran.

European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton recently reminded U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in a letter that the U.S. had promised in 1998 not to punish European countries for doing business with Iran.

In order to avoid diplomatic difficulties, the Obama administration is seeking a waiver for countries that have cooperated with the United States on Iran – but the White House may face a tough fight. The senior Republican member on House Foreign Affairs Committee, U.S. Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), called the U.N. sanctions a “goose egg.” Ros-Lehtinen is calling for Congress to beef up the international fight against the Islamic Republic’s nuclear development program by imposing “crippling sanctions against Iran” on its own.

Iran Cleric Makes Veiled Call for Nuclear Arms

    Newsmax Monday, 14 Jun 2010
The hardline spiritual mentor of Iran’s president has made a rare public call for producing “special weapons” that are currently the monopoly of a few nations, in a reference to nuclear arms.

The Associated Press on Monday obtained a copy of a book written by Ayatollah Mohammad Taqi Mesbah Yazdi in which he wrote Iran should not deprive itself of the right to produce these “special weapons.”

Iran’s government, as well as its clerical hierarchy, have repeatedly denied the country is seeking nuclear weapons, as alleged by a number of Western nations.

Yazdi’s book was written in 2005 and then reprinted last year, but would have only had a very limited circulation among senior clerics and would not have been public knowledge.

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP’s earlier story is below.

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran’s most powerful military force, the Revolutionary Guard, said Monday it was not worried by the latest U.N. sanctions that seek to undercut its reach and stall the country’s nuclear program.

The defiant remarks by senior Guard commander Gen. Hossein Salami were the group’s first reaction since the Security Council last week imposed the toughest sanctions yet in response to Tehran’s refusal to halt uranium enrichment.

The Guard has a direct hand in Iran’s nuclear research as well as nearly ever critical economic and defense project, including missile technology and Iran’s vital oil industry.

The Guard’s power has further expanded since last June’s disputed elections after it took charge of the crackdown against opposition forces — leading U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton to claim earlier this year that Iran was moving toward a “military dictatorship.”

The new U.N. sanctions seek to disrupt the Guard’s money flow and areas of influence. They call for an asset freeze on 40 additional companies and organizations: 15 linked to the Guard, 22 involved in nuclear or ballistic missile activities.

The sanctions came after months of efforts to press Iran to accept a U.N.-drafted plan to swap low-enriched uranium for reactor-ready fuel. Iran, instead, responded last month with a separate plan backed by Turkey and Brazil, but it did not mandate a halt on uranium enrichment sought by the West and allies.

The United States and other nations fear that Iran will continue to upgrade its uranium enrichment program until it can produce a nuclear weapon. Iran says it only seeks energy and research reactors and has the right to enrich uranium under international accords.  The Revolutionary Guard commander Salami said Iran has shaped its defense capabilities “on the basis of the worst case scenarios” and that sanctions won’t stop Iran’s program.

”The level, format, volume and severity of sanctions is not worrying for us,” the official IRNA news agency quoted him as saying.

Despite the increased international tensions over the sanctions — supported by key Iranian trading partners Russia and China — Western envoys still hold out hope for a diplomatic solution.

European Union officials said EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton has invited Iran’s top nuclear negotiator, Saeed Jalili, to talks on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program. A diplomat said Iran is expected to respond positively to the proposal, with the talks being held sometime over the summer. The diplomat spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue.

But EU foreign ministers meeting in Luxembourg are also looking at imposing their own set of sanctions against Tehran. A draft document said these should target the financial and transport sectors, as well as investments in its oil industry.

Under the latest U.N. resolution, Iran is banned from pursuing “any activity related to ballistic missiles capable of delivering nuclear weapons,” investing in nuclear-related activities such as uranium mining, and buying eight categories of heavy weapons, including attack helicopters and missiles.

While experts say sanctions can make life more difficult — technically, financially and politically — for Iran, Salami said Iran has got used to living under sanctions for three decades since the first wave of U.S. embargoes after the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

”We’ve always been subject to sanctions. The Iranian nation and the Guard has experienced life under 31 years of sanctions … and has achieved self-sufficiency. It is the outside world, not Iran, that will lose from sanctions,” IRNA quoted him as saying.
