Obama: transforming America

Yesterday, April 02, 2011, 5:17:58 PM

To listen click here. He said he was going to do it.  He explained why he was going to do it. He even said how he was going to do it.  He has been doing it since the day he took office.

He did take office at a time when the economy was on the brink of disaster.  Of course, he and others of his philosophical ilk caused both the housing bubble and its collapse – no matter how hard they deny it.  Organizations such as ACORN , where Obama cut his teeth as a community organizer, demanded that banks fund mortgages for people who had no hope of repaying them.  Democrats in Congress made it easy for banks by guaranteeing the loans through Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.  Two months before the 2008 election, the U.S. government had to bail out the two failed financial institutions to the tune of $15 billion.
During eight years under the Bush administration, the national debt increased by $4 trillion ($500 billion per year.)  These years included the attack on the World Trade Centers, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and Hurricane Katrina, as well as the explosion of the housing bubble.  Obama added $4 trillion to the national debt in 421 days.  And his belief that “spreading the wealth around” has created a debt that will burden future generations for years to come.

Obama’s economic policy is transforming America.

Despite the absence of Constitutional authority, or a single Republican vote, Obama’s health care plan not only deepens the public debt, but also forces previously free citizens to purchase a product designated by the government.  Never before has the federal government presumed to dictate what its citizens must buy.  Moreover, Obama, and his Democrat majority in Congress, used bizarre procedures to force “Obamacare” into law.  By so doing, Obama has demonstrated that he believes his ideas on governance to be superior to the Founders’, and that achieving his goals is far more important than any rules or procedural restraints.

Obama chooses not to enforce federal drug laws relating to marijuana, or to allow his Department of Justice to prosecute Black Panthers who stood – with Billy-club in hand – in front of polling places to intimidate white voters.  But he quickly sues a school district for not allowing a Muslim teacher to take three weeks off to go to Mecca.

Obama’s social policy is transforming America

Before he was elected, he told an audience in Germany that he was a “citizen of the world.”  No one knew, for sure, just what that meant while he was campaigning.  His meaning began to clarify when he launched his global tour to apologize for America’s past sins.  He promptly promised to close Guantanamo Bay within a year, claiming that it offended Muslims around the world.  He promised to give Guantanamo prisoners the benefit of U.S. citizenship by trying them in federal courts in the United States.  He refused to close the Mexican border or enforce illegal entry laws, and promptly sued the state of Arizona when its legislature enacted state law to do what Obama wouldn’t let the feds do.

When Egyptians began protesting in the streets of Cairo, Obama’s Secretary of State assured the world that Mubarak’s government was quite stable.  Within days, Obama was declaring to the world that Mubarak had to step down.  When crowds began to gather in the cities of Libya, Obama took off to South America, and the Secretary of State took off to the United Nations.

Obama announced that the policy of the United States was for Libya’s Gaddafi to leave office.  After days of negotiating, the Secretary of State finally got the U.N. Security Council to adopt a resolution authorizing military force to prevent genocide, but not to unseat Gaddafi.  Within hours after the U.N. resolution was adopted, the U.S. military was dropping bombs and launching missiles – without Congressional authority, or even the knowledge of Congress.

The War Powers Act says that:

“The constitutional powers of the President as Commander-in-Chief to introduce United States Armed Forces into hostilities… are exercised only pursuant to (1) a declaration of war, (2) specific statutory authorization, or (3) a national emergency created by attack upon the United States, its territories or possessions, or its armed forces.”

As a candidate in 2007, Obama knew better.  He told the Boston Globe:

“The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.”

As President, he doesn’t seem to care what the Constitution or the War Powers Act say.  He considers the Constitution to be a “flawed” document which he alone has the wisdom to correct.
Obama’s foreign policy is transforming America.

Obama has clearly demonstrated that he is not kidding about transforming America.  He is at it with a vengeance, and he will succeed, unless people with backbone are elected in 2012.  There must be a time to recover from Obama’s madness.  We must restore America’s greatness, not transform it.

Is Obama Socially-Rigging 2012?

Am I the only one highly suspicious of an Obama administration official who originally left to work with David Axelrod on the Obama reelection team, now heading over for a high-profile position within a means of communication?

Obama’s ineligibility: conspiracy and cowardice

Unless I am mistaken, it has always been a Constitutional requirement that a Presidential candidate be a natural born citizen. That is, the candidate must be born in the US of parents who are US citizens at the time of birth.

Obama: Ask me no questions, I’ll tell you no lies

Yesterday, April 02, 2011, 9:22:02 AM
Ask me no questions I’ll tell you no lies, is a phrase attributed to Irish playwright Oliver Goldsmith (1728-1774). If Goldsmith were alive today he would probably want to meet President Obama and most of his cabinet and appointees so he could see those who have brought his coined phrase into a daily standard of practice.

Obama’s hidden agenda in the Middle East

Yesterday, April 02, 2011, 7:56:21 PM
Protests and demonstrations against Bashar Assad’s regime in Syria have been large and growing and the Syrian government has put them down with brutal force. The regime has responded to peaceful calls for reform by beating, torturing and killing protesters and demonstrators and has made it crystal clear that they can expect more of the same if protests and demonstrations continue.

Mr. Obama’s Libyan Adventure

Yesterday, April 02, 2011, 10:46:56 PM
It’s a lot easier to start a war than it is to finish it, as Mr. Obama is learning on his Libyan adventure. That is why wars are generally entered into after some consideration of the situation on the ground. There is only one excuse for a rush to war—and that is either an imminent threat or in response to an act of war. Such was the case after September 11, and yet even then the United States waited longer to begin bombing the Taliban—than we did before bombing Gaddafi. Obama rushed in when bombing Libya was popular, and now when it hasn’t he’s rushing out again. The US is ending combat operations almost as soon as it began them to avoid being associated with the failure of the Libyan intervention. Or rather to avoid associating Obama with its failure.  Obama was happy to take credit for the fall of Mubarak until the Muslim Brotherhood stepped up to succeed him. He was happy to take credit for toppling Gaddafi until he realized that it wasn’t going to happen without a full bore invasion. The Arab Revolt was cool, but now it isn’t anymore. And Obama doesn’t want to be associated with it anymore.  Suddenly it’s last year’s Keffiyah lying in the trash.

  • After President Obama gave a weak defense of his unconstitutional military assault on Libya, Senator Rand Paul took to his YouTube channel to give his cogent, incisive reply.

Obama Needs to go Back to Energy School

Yesterday, April 02, 2011, 6:18:06 AM
Two days ago President Obama unveiled his “Blueprint for a Secure Energy Future” [.pdf] in a speech at Georgetown University. It’s unfortunate that the young impressionable minds were subjected to the talk, as it was chock-full of economic nonsense. In the future we recommend Georgetown look to Harvard for a more suitable public speaker.

Obama Promises El Salvador New Amnesty for Illegal Aliens

Well, he’s still at it; giving our country away just as if he were born to it and all of its wealth and assets are his to give away at his pleasure.  I once likened him in a column to a drunken sailor, for which I was seriously chastized by a former drunken (?) sailor who was offended to have me compare him to the usurper charlatan in our White House.
